I release myself from the need for approval.

I know living my life for others can only end poorly. At the end of the day, I can only please myself. I know my values and what is important to me. I live my life according to my own rules.

I allow others to live by their values and rules. By allowing others this privilege, I am giving myself permission to enjoy the same opportunity.

Worrying about the opinions of others is a mistake. Everything I could ever possibly say or do is viewed negatively by someone. It is impossible to please everyone, so I choose to please myself.

When I seek approval, I make others more important than me. This is unfair. My needs, desires, and interests are just as important as anyone else’s.

I value myself and the life I have been given. I seek to put my own unique mark on the world. There are things I have to offer that can only be offered by me. Seeking approval stifles my individuality.

My self-esteem depends only on my opinion of myself. The opinions of others are irrelevant to me. I am making my own path in the world and building a life that is meaningful to me.

My opinion of my life is what matters.

Today, I am doing what I believe is best for me and my life. I release myself from any concern about the opinions of others or their approval. I only need my approval. When I have that, I am happy.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. When have I done something just to get approval from others? How did it work out?
2. What do I want from life that I am afraid to admit to others? Why am I afraid?
3. What would I do with my life if I didn’t care what anyone else thought?

I celebrate myself and what I have achieved.

My life has been filled with successes. Everything is on track and I am excited about the direction my life is headed. All of my hard work pays off and brings me closer to my goals. I am proud of myself for all that I have achieved.

I know that even more achievements and accomplishments are coming my way. I deserve to be pleased with myself, and I am.

Life is sometimes less than perfect. I occasionally fail in the short term, but that is okay. I learn from my mistakes and keep trying. I am confident I can be successful if I persevere.

I am building a great career. I am accomplishing great things at my job. My career is on course to meet my goals. I am respected and successful. I celebrate myself for thriving in my work environment.

I am becoming healthier each day. I am making great strides in how I treat myself. I prioritize my health. I look great and continue to look even better each week. I celebrate myself for putting my health first.

Today, I am feeling pleased with myself as I recall all the things I have accomplished to this point in my life. I am celebrating myself and what I have achieved so far. I plan on achieving even more.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. What are my greatest achievements so far? How do they make me feel? Am I proud of myself for what I have accomplished?

I love and approve of myself, no matter what.

I am a valuable person and make worthwhile contributions to the world. Each day, in big and small ways, I remind myself of this. In any circumstance, I know that I am worthy.

Knowing my own value is important to me. Therefore, I cultivate thoughts that encourage me in what I am good at and forgive myself for any mistakes. I consciously invest my time and efforts in recognizing my own worth.

If I experience situations in which I begin to feel a lack of self-approval or self-love, I stop for a moment to take a deep breath. As I breathe, I remember that my value is independent of any external circumstances or actions I take. I love and approve of myself always.

My self-esteem radiates out from me and is reflected back by others. They easily see my sense of self-worth and act in accordance with it.

If someone treats me in an unsatisfying way, I ask myself how I would prefer them to act. Then, I ensure that I am following my own good advice. I set the example for how I would like to be treated!

Today, I am thankful that I feel good about myself and treat myself with the utmost care and kindness. I seek out opportunities to exemplify self-love to enrich my life and the lives of those I love.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. What are three things I can do to be kinder to myself today?
2. Are there times when I feel less than loving toward myself?
3. What can I do at those times to bolster my positive energy?

I forgive myself for my mistakes. I am human.

Mistakes are inevitable and I accept that. I know that I make mistakes every now and then, just as everyone else does. After all, no one is perfect! I let go of any temptation to beat myself up about it and, instead, I move on.

First of all, I admit my mistakes and forgive myself. Then I focus on what I can do to lessen its impact.

I do what I can to make up for my gaffes. If I need to apologize, I make a sincere apology and ask if there is something I can do to make things right. If I need to do something over, I start it immediately. If I neglected to do something I was supposed to, I do it.

Then, I look for the silver lining. What can I learn from this mistake? Mistakes always teach me something and enable me to grow. Oftentimes, a little mistake brings solutions to light that I never thought of before.

It reminds me of something Thomas Edison said when he was experimenting with the light bulb. He said, “I learned a thousand ways of how not to make a light bulb.” The point is: each mistake we make brings us one step closer to success.

I realize that the term “mistake” is not synonymous with the term “bad.” I look creatively at my mistakes. I seek opportunities to create positive outcomes from my slip-ups.

Today, I choose to have an optimistic attitude about my mistakes and find something positive about each one.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. Do I get angry with myself when I make a mistake?
2. Do I openly admit my mistakes and do what I can to make the situation better?
3. What can I learn from a recent mistake?

My Home Makes Me Feel Comfortable And Safe

My home makes me feel comfortable and safe.

There is something incredibly special about my home. It provides me with sanctuary from the outside world.

In my dwelling, I can bask in my favorite creature comforts. Whether I choose to relax on my bed, in a favorite chair, or in a hot, fragrant bath, I am nourished and rejuvenated by spending time in my home.

Home is the place I return to when I am weary from a day’s work. I am reminded that I have a pleasant, protective space to go, and that this place is all mine. No other place or thing gives me the sense of joy and relief I get from my home.

Caring for my home brings me happiness and a sense of security. Joy springs from the idea that I can arrange my furnishings and personal belongings however I choose. I can create my dream environments in my sacred space, my home.

Feelings of security wash over me as I walk through the door to my dwelling. My home is my shelter from the storm.

I am truly blessed to have my own home to return to at day’s end. The comfort and safety of my personal space allows me the freedom to accept all that life offers me.

Today, I choose to renew my efforts to create pleasant, comforting spaces in my home, making my personal space as comfortable and safe as possible.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. Do I truly feel comfortable and safe in my home?
  2. What changes do I want to make in my home to create serene spaces for myself?
  3. How can I ensure that my home is truly my sanctuary?

I Am Able To Do Whatever I Put My Mind To

I am able to do whatever I put my mind to.

I am my greatest supporter because I know that I am capable. I am certain that whatever I put my mind to is achievable because of my natural abilities.

Overcoming physical issues sometimes takes me on a long and trying road. Although my body may take a while to heal, I avoid giving up on it. I endure the difficult times as I return to a state of good health.

Distractions rarely prevent me from getting my school assignments done. As soon as I sense myself being sidetracked, I consciously reestablish my focus.

I am able to pay attention to what is in front of me because I remain conscious of my goals. Reminding myself of what I have set out to achieve is enough to keep me diligent.

I am creative in my approach to learning something new. Instead of assuming only one solution, I search for alternatives. It is rewarding when I put my mind to achieving something that seems unattainable.

Breaking things down into smaller parts helps me to tackle overwhelming things. My mind achieves great things when I narrow down my target area.

Today, I believe that I am a force of greatness. My abilities are unlimited because I believe in myself.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. How do I restore confidence when I am faced with a challenge that I am unable to solve?
  2. How do I prepare myself for unfamiliar territory?
  3. What are some of the exercises I do to maintain mental fortitude?

Moving Against The Crowd Is Liberating

Moving against the crowd is liberating.

Very few feelings are more encouraging than marching to the beat of my own drum. When I move against the crowd, I feel free. It is empowering to know that I am acknowledged respectfully for doing things my way despite opposition.

I am careful with my decision-making. Each choice I make is given meaningful thought. Taking this approach ensures that I remain true to myself.

It is sometimes difficult to ignore the popular opinion of the masses. Life seems so much easier when I take someone else’s path, but it is far less fulfilling that way.

Fulfillment comes by doing what I know feels right within my soul.

It feels good to honor the morals that have taken me through life. I sleep peacefully at night when I am free from emotional turmoil. I choose to do what feels good to me, regardless of what others think.

Taking a path of honest, hard work to success is sometimes slower, but is more liberating. In that scenario, I avoid being enslaved by dishonest decisions just to get to the top.

Today, I am committed to taking steps that feel good to me. I am courageous in pursuing what I feel is right even if it is unpopular. My focus is on being true to myself at all times.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. What are some of the reasons why I may choose to go with the crowd?
  2. How much influence do my loved ones have in my decision-making?
  3. How do I know when my decisions are less ideal than someone else’s?
